B.E.T – Breath Enhancement Training

B.E.T. LogoEqualize Training Company founders have developed a unique Breath Training program extremely popular amongst those looking to better themselves in the surf, as an athlete or for general health and well being purposes.

It is not often the first thing that comes to mind however, oxygen and breathing form the ‘foundation’ for both mental & physical performance. When either the breath or oxygen levels are compromised we do not perform at our potential.

Breath Enhancement Training (B.E.T) is a program that will challenge every part of your ability to control yourself under stress whether it is physical, mental or particular environmental stressors and therefore make you much better at this.

There are essentially 3 different styles of

1) B.E.T for Surfers – Increases lung capacity, breath hold & confidence in big waves. Improves decision making under pressure. Improves control of finer motor skills that allow quick, precise movements when in critical areas of a wave.

2) B.E.T for Athletes – Increases strength and function of respiratory system, breathe better under load and for longer. Increases tolerance to elevated levels of carbon dioxide and lactic acid. Increases anaerobic threshold. Builds supreme mental tolerance to physical challenges.

3) B.E.T for Health – I Increases strength and function of respiratory system. Decreases anxiety and stress – physical, emotional or mental. Increases immune system strength. Increases energy & circulation. Increases mental focus.

Sessions are specifically tailored to each particular style however numerous benefits are found across all 3 styles.

Within a training session, your B.E.T trainer will: -

  • Check the current state of your nervous system & heart rate variability with a Bio Feedback device.
  • Based on Bio Feedback results, teach correct breathing methods to restore balance, maintain balance and further enhance future performance.
  • Challenge you with unique activities to simulate in mind and body the particular stressors you face, therefore you will perform much better in these situations in the future.
  • Teach you how to effectively prepare for & handle these situations with both key breath techniques and psychological tips.
  • Teach you the most effective ways to recover and restore balance to your nervous system, a crucial component in maintaining high quality training sessions and performance.

You will notice immediate improvements in your performance, as your mind and body begin to work better together when under load.

1:1 is the ultimate way to train, all efforts are focused on you & your specific needs.

THE INTRODUCTORY SESSION

Whether you choose to train 1:1 or in a group, you must participate in an Introductory session first. You will cover:-

INTRO COSTS?

1:1 $170.00 – Allow 1 & 1/2 hours

2:1 $100.00 each – Allow 1 & 3/4 hours

3:1 $75.00 each – Allow 1 & 3/4 hours.

After that you can simply book in session by session for continued personalised tuition at $120.00/session or enquire about group training.

GROUP TRAINING

Feel free to inquire about our group training sessions. You can only join a group class after participating in an Introductory session first (see above). Group prices are based on a sliding scale i.e. as the group becomes bigger, you pay less per session. Please contact us for pricing.
