WELCOME to the home of Equalize Training Company, founders of BREATH ENHANCEMENT TRAINING (B.E.T). Although we offer a number of different services (see 'OTHER SERVICES'), this website is mainly dedicated to the B.E.T Program.

WHAT IS BREATH ENHANCEMENT TRAINING?

Whether you are looking for the edge as an athlete, in the surf or simply to improve your general health and well being, Breath Enhancement Training (B.E.T) will challenge AND calm you, enhancing both your physical and mental capabilities. Physical and mental strength and conditioning are both integral components to improving your performance and success whether you are a competitive athlete or you enjoy your chosen sport for basic fitness and well-being.

In sport, oxygen and breathing form the 'foundation' for both mental and physical performance.



The first thing affected when facing a physical or mental stress is your BREATHING!
Were you aware that approximately 90% of your energy actually comes from oxygen whilst the other 10% from food and water.



So , when either the breath or oxygen levels are compromised we do not perform at our potential. Until now if you have failed to pay much attention to the respiratory and nervous systems, you may unknowingly be losing 9 - 27% of your lung capacity every decade.

Components of B.E.T can be likened to a gym workout for your lungs and mind, you are guaranteed to benefit immensely. Breath Enhancement Training places great emphasis on recovery 'during' and after every training session. The best athletes are those that recover the best, recovery is a crucial component in maintaining high quality training sessions and performance in competition.

An interesting realisation during B.E.T is of the mind and its' capabilities. Whilst your physical body will peak at some point in time, your mental abilities can be enhanced throughout life allowing you to break down personal limitations and calm your 'mental chatter'.

For the athlete, the body will learn to utilise available oxygen more efficiently; deal better with deficits of oxygen and tolerate higher levels of carbon dioxide and lactic acid. Overall sporting performance will be enhanced by the ability to better control heart rate and recover quicker through breathing techniques and greater strength of the respiratory muscles involved.
For those that surf or compete in surf related events, B.E.T will boost confidence, ability and focus. If you want to get good at something you have to practice that thing.
